    Re: COD 2 patch?

For the past two nights, Bill, Wicked and I were bouncing in and out of XBox Live COD 2 rooms.  We were able to get into the same rooms several times, but it's a pain in the ass.  There are times you can, and times you can't.  Tonight for instance, it was Wicked, Bill, Nominal, DigDug and I trying to get into rooms together.  I don't think we all got in the same room at the same time... but it was close.  This is rather annoying.

The XLink stuff is still a challenge, Nom and DigDug can play together, Bill, Wicked, Fury and I can play together... but that's about it.

We need to try a few more XLink options... uhhhh... I mean hosts to see if there is a better combination.  Scott and Jalobo haven't been able to join us or each other.  Maybe Bean needs to fire one up.

    Re: COD 2 patch?

sounds like activision is really working on it, I hope so or else this game will disappear off live altogether as soon as GR3 comes out, and it might anyway by then b/c most all the other games for 360 are unimpressive and cod2 is getting lots of hours and may be worn out by the time gr3 comes out.  hopefully the online for gr3 will be just as good or better than gr2 for creating rooms and hosting, etc., so that way Tob can continue to glitch-kill us!

I was on a roof top in one of the north africa maps last night, a guy came by on the adjacent roof almost touching mine, probably 10 feet away,  I put 2 rounds from a sniper rifle right into his back with the crosshairs red, he turned around and put me down with one shot.  I'm sure I have benefited from the glitch-kill but it always seems worse on the receiving end.

I might try this http://www.xmelee.com/ to see if this might work better than xlink or xbc.

It looks like XBox is not supported.  It appears that this is more towards PC based games.  Also, our problem is really the actual game.  The COD game is the one that is not allowing you to connect to our hosted games.  The theory is that the latency between your xbox to your pc to my pc to my xbox is too slow (ping) so the game says... "nope, not letting that P.O.S. in, his latency will cause game lag... thank you, please drive through"  Or something like that.

It's definitely worth trying another PC based System Link router, see if xmelee will work, from what I have seen, it doesn't look like it.  The only other one is GameSpy (arcade I think).  I think it's worth trying, but I wouldn't get my hopes up.

I came accross this post about a guy getting in trouble talking about the COD2 patch. Kind of a interesting read.

    Re: COD 2 patch?

Dude got fired apparently.  I didn't see much in his post that would be proprietary, but maybe the topic itself was too sensitive for IW and MSoft.  A lot of BS there.
